Field Notes is a blog run by the Ottawa Field-Naturalists’ Club (OFNC). The blog features reports on monthly meetings, excursions and events, profiles of local nature enthusiasts, scientists and conservationists, and highlights of research on species near and dear to members of the OFNC.

Founded in 1879, the OFNC is the oldest natural history club in Canada. Over 800 members have interests in all aspects of the natural world, from birding to botanizing, investigation to publication, conservation to cooperation.
